Thinking about getting a FTU for my T97 and using a Bushnell TRS25 red dot with it . Was wondering if anyone could give me thier experiences with this sight ? How is it in -20 temps and is 3 moa dot small enough for 100-200 yard shots ? Ive never owned a red dot but have tried the vortex sparc 2 and thought it was decent but heard for the price the TRS 25 was good too.

I recently got one with the riser for use on a DA 556 and i've been very happy so far. It's not on the same level as aimpoint but so far it's been reliable and held zero fine. If the dot were much smaller i'd have have problems seeing it at a reasonable speed. If you want to slowfire at 100 or 200 yards you can dial back the intensity of the dot and it will appear to be smaller. I tend to run mine around 6 or 7 intensity for a decent balance between brightness, precision and battery life.

if your eyes are young and healthy, no problems, but guys with eye problems (astigmatism?) report that they cant use red dots, due to fuzzy/distorted dot image.

I'm in the market for a compact red dot. How does the TRS-25 RDS compare to the Vortex Sparc II 2MOA (~$220 with mounts)?
