Bushnell TRS-25 Thoughts After Buying

Like I suggested earlier, have you tried the TRS on another rifle for elevation zeroing? Like a flat top AR or something.

I didn't know about this difference until today. At this point I'll see what Bushnell will do for a warranty and I'm not willing to spend money on another when for 450 I can get an Aimpoint from the state's. Thanks for letting me know about this though maybe they can switch it for a gold logo at Bushnell or is it a different model?

It's the same model but it's an earlier production, the ones they built the good reputation for the trs-25 off of. It seems like they switched manufacturers and cut some corners on the white logo versions (newer models)

I have mine on a quick release high mount on my keltec sub 2000.I attach it to the rail and it returns close to zero. Great little red dot for the $.

Yes I have I still need to adjust the elevation quite a bit and I think it may be because the mount that I am using sits quite high from the barrel because I wanted to be able to see my iron sights beneath it which I can.

I don't want people to think I am bad mouthing this red dot. It seems like it could be a great red dot for the money I just think I may have got a bit of a lemon. I'll keep this thread updated once I talk to Bushnell tomorrow.

That is what I have read from just about everyone. I didn't expect a military grade red dot but I did expect it to hold up to the relatively light recoil of 7.62x39 considering I've heard a lot of people say they have mounted them on 12 gauges without problems.

Mine has been rock solid, I had it on a 12g and it handles the recoil fine. Everything from birdshot to 3" slugs and magnum 00buck, it's since been moved to an sks but I had it on the shotgun for a good year.

Two seasons of rabbit hunting , always around freezing , plus plinking a little when it's warmer....still on the same battery. I bought a couple spare batteries just in case,( there not expensive) but still not needed yet. Only wish it had a simple push button on/off switch so you could leave it at one setting, less movement to turn on and quicker....that and I wish my eyes seen a perfect circle and not a bug splat (not the sights fault)

The only thing I can ever rant about is the crappy rubber cover... they tend to automatically fall off in the middle of the trip after used for a while...

Mine don't necessarily fall off but I do agree the cover is crappy. I wish there was some sort of flip up cover for this sight but the lips are just too small.

I don't know why companies continue to build red dot sites when prism scopes exist and in my experience are superior in every way, especially since allot of red dot sights get all wonky with some peoples eyes(like mine) . Your elevation issues will be the fact your mount is likely not level with the bore of your rifle.

Who is making a $100 CAD prismatic?

Yeah after mine now I'm not sure it'll last. My problem is from the power settings selector. Certain settings I don't use often work fine but 7-9 which I use most of the time now flicker a lot making the sight near useless for me even for the range.
