So, I just picked up a TRS 25 from Amazon for my Buck Mark Sporter rifle. Is this a reasonable choice for a rimfire? The reviews on here seem fairly positive. The price seemed right and it will be mostly for plinking at 25-50 yards. If I find I like it I may grab another one for my STG-44.

In terms of zeroing the sight I don't see anything in the instructions about how much each click moves the POI. Anybody know? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I'm mostly a hand gun guy and a real newb when it comes to oprics.

Just my thought I'd use the TRS on my pistols and use a inexpensive Bushnell on my 22 rifles

That's an option but i thought the red dot might be better/faster in case I want to use the Buck Mark for some of the casual steel challange type events they sometimes run at my club. (They shoot both handguns and rimfire rifles)

In terms of the STG 44 the optic mount adapter rail replaces the rear sight (well forward of the ejection port) so you'd need some kind of a long eye relief scope I think.

I'd be interested to know how you make out with it.. good luck

The TRS 25 has all good reviews and the size(2.4 inches if I'm correct?) makes it appealing for pistols.to me anyhow. The info I'm coming up with is it's only available in a high rise mount? not available in low rise picitinny ?

TRS-25s are OK for a .22. Be careful with the mounting screw and the part it threads into, as they can strip easily.

Amazon prices keep fluctuating. I've seen them for 125. But other than that, that's around the average price I've seen. The sell like hot cakes so not on sale that much. That I've seen anyway.

New style TRS-25 with the white logo has its emitter at 6 o'clock and the dot disappears in the top third of the glass which makes using this dot extremely frustrating. The new TRS does not live up to the hype of the previous gen

The TRS25 has a 3 MOA dot. It is a decent little sight for the money, but has been surpassed in value by the Holosun line of optics. The Bushnell is still a very good sight but the glass is considerably more tinted than new sights on the market. It does have decent battery life, but once again has been surpassed by recent offerings from just about everyone. I have a couple of TRS25's and they would be right about perfect on a .22.

I found new Trs-25's with white lettering with the emitter @ 4 o'clock.

Is the main problem with the white lettered version the 6 o'clock emitter, or is there other issues like brightness compared to the gold lettered older version?
