Just picked up a new trs 25 that seems to be highly regarded on the net. My experience hasn't been such. I haven't even fired a shot with it and It's already got to go back for warranty. The first few times I turned it on, everything was 'ok'. Now It looks like a huge clump of grapes. Also there is a serious obstruction to the fov from the internals.... and that's just how it is made.

The grapes might be your eyes....astigmatism.
The emiter thing surprised me when I first looked through one but you get used to it and it doesn't bother me when I'm shooting.
Have you actually been out shooting with it? I find the grape clusters to be worse looking through red dots inside under electric lights for some reason....

I am going to give it a try today. could be my eyes but last time I had a checkup I had 25/20 vision(better than normal). But I could clearly see 3 individual parts, with gaps in between. Also about the emitter, they should have gone from the bottom, wouldn't be so anoying as most front sights are obstructing view down there anyway.

If you are indoors looking through a red dot it always appears very scattered, or fuzzy. I take it this is your first red dot, so go outside with it before freaking out.

Almost all red dots have that "obstruction" as it is where the light source for the dot comes from. You won't even notice it when looking straight through the dot, once it is mounted.

I have a couple of them and the Vortex Sparc , the Sparc has a little smaller dot than the TRS but the TRS dot isnt too big in my opinion .I havnt seen any big clusters on mine and the obstruction on the bottom right isnt very noticeable to me.
I have only used it out to 100 yards though and it worked fine.For long range the dot would be pretty big.
IMHO For the money they are a pretty good red dot.

Ahahaha yeah I guess I had a bit of a premature freekout lol. took it to the outdoor range mounted on the 858, all seems well.

Yes this is my first red dot.

Feel like an idiot now.

Will post a vid/picture of it later tonight...
