Anyone have any recent experience with Bushnells warranty?

In February I bought a new Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14x44 scope.

The scope has been great and I had shot the rifle with it just a few weeks ago to get it sighted in for hunting season with no problems at all. Today I was going through my cabinet and I shouldered the rifle to find a large black spot in the scope next to the reticle. The spot is definitely inside the scope, and it's not just a smudge, if you cant the scope slightly you can see the different edges on the piece.

The manual of the scope states this:
"We are so proud of our Bushnell Legend® Ultra HD Riflescopes that their materials and workmanship are warranted to be free of defects
for the life of the Legend® Ultra HD Riflescope. The warranty is available to any owner of the Legend® Ultra HD Riflescope. No receipt or
warranty card is required. This warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse or improper handling, installation or maintenance of
the riflescope. At our option, we will repair or replace any defective Legend® Ultra HD riflescope, which shall be your sole remedy under
this warranty.
"

This scope has never been abused and has not even been hunted with yet, just brought to the range to sight in.

That looks like a peice of coating has flaked off on the inside.

They are in Richmond hill Ontario. If you are close enough to drive there it will most likely be replaced over the counter as they have for me on several occasions in the past.

Unfortunately I am up in Thunder Bay, Ontario. So I will have to see about mailing it in. I'm will give them a call tomorrow.

Can you confirm the address? The Bushnell website shows an address for Vaughn Ontario. But my Manual has the same address you posted.

Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Shouldn't take very long from what I've read/told.

Well you may be wrong on the "Shouldn't take vary long" part. I sent one of there AR scopes for repair in May and I still don't have it back. I spoke to them and the earliest I can expect a replacement is maybe late September.

This may be due to the replacement scope being temporarily out of stock. This happened to a friend & he waited a few months for the scope he wanted. He was offered a different model but wanted the identical scope to the one he returned.

Well Bushnell told me that I could have the model up from the one I sent in and the model up should be available towards the end of September if I wanted to waite and get the same model that I sent in I would prob have to waite till December. I think the reason behind the waite time is that they are sending them all to retailers first and warrantie claims is last in line. The reason I beleive this to be true is that I talked to the local gun shop owner and he has been getting the exact same scope that I have waite for on a regular basis. Seems to me that once they have your money they send you to the back of the line and they will get to you when they get to you. Any new Bushnells in my future ? I think NOT

The Legend line use to be made in the Philippines and were good scopes for the price, new line is made in China....doesn't matter who puts their name on it, Chinese optics are crap or will crap the bed sooner rather then later. The flaking thing was very common with the first bunch of Vortex Crossfires, Hawke scopes as well...which also fall apart.
Unfortunately most of the AR line is made in China as well, with the exception of the FFP 1-4 unit....best to avoid Chinese optics, especially at the prices they are asking....you can get something that is actually rugged and decent glass for that price.
