well, i just broke my neck sizing die. it is a lee. have done about 250 .270 win cases on it, taken good care of the die( clean and lubed the collet and mandrel) i always make sure the cap is good and tight, as i heard on here that many people have stripped the threads when using this setup.
well it happened to me, and of course everything is closed now.

has anybody made a steel replacement for these? it can't be very hary, as it just a machined plug basically.

well 1 phone call to lee, and parts are apparently in the mail, free of charge.

About an hour after i broke it, i was looking in the garage for something to fix it, and of course i don't have the right die to make a plug, but lo and behold, it's the same thread as a 90's polaris primary clutch puller. shortened my homemade one, and had my steel plug.

the die works flawlessly.

now to make the die body- shouldn't be to hard on a lathe.

Lee collett die by chance? I'm thinking that top piece may be aluminum for a reason -better to bust the top cap than bust your press?
