Hi. I.m looking for a butcher to cut up any deer I may be able to harvest.:D Who do you go to preferably in the Perth county area but am willing to drive anywhere between London to Kitchener and as north as Listowel. Thanks

Not what you may want to hear, but why do all that driving and paying big $$$, for steaks and roasts, you can do youre own in a couple of hours...:)

When everything is deboned, its easy.:D

I would like to try myself but I don't have the tools or the place to do it, assuming I'm going to make a huge mess doing it. I wouldn't mind butchering it with someone first who has done it before so I could do it right.

What town are you nearest to?.

Im sure most members here would not mind you watching while showing you how to debone, and cut up a deer if you asked them for some help.

After the shotgun hunt most will have a few hanging.

medamas in embro will do them, so I was just told.... But, try it yourself. You really cant go wrong. I still need to learn 'proper' cuts.... but I'm getting a little more confident each time. You tube videos help too... a couple knifes and a saw of some sort, some ziplocks or butcher paper, is all you need

what he said. its not very difficult at all once you get into the animal its much easier to ID different cuts.

do it yourself and it seems more satisfying knowing that you killed, butchered, and cooked the animal all on your own. i like having control of how its cut and portion sizes too. it's also an excellent excuse to have a few wobbly pops with hunting buddies.

lastly, you'll know that your're getting 100% of your animal as i'm sure there's more than one butcher out there that likes to fill his freezer with free meat during the season...
