butt stock choices for mdt chassis

I'd like to eventually put an LSS chassis on my savage 300 wm with an adjustable butt stock but there are so many choices. Was wondering if I could get a head start on what's comfortable from field positions and whats worked for others?
Also does anyone know who makes the pistol grip used on the savage ba? It has a large base on the bottom
 
I have the Skeleton stock that MDT makes and it is comfortable and highly adjustable. It's a little heavy but you're probably not concerned with that with a precision rifle
 
I would use a MFT Battlelink personally. If you get the one that comes as an assembly with the buffer tube, there isn't much slop in it. The generic one is very loose. Big advantages to being able to adjust LOP on the fly in field and positional shooting...

Awesome thanks. This gun will be used for hunting mainly. That's why I need an adjusting buttstock. Off hand and kneeling the savage factory stock fits me great. Prone not so well. It becomes to short and rides higher.
As long as it doesn't rattle and can take a hit from a 300 wm it should work.

The MDT Skeleton stock has a bit different geometry than many other stocks, the cheek rest is quite high even in the lowest position and max LOP is on the low side. But, it is a solid piece of work and adjustable.

Yeah I had to use a picatinny riser rail even with Vortex extra high rings paired with a TAC21. They should drop where the riser mounts to the stock about an inch to allow for proper cheek weld and scope mounting

I never had that problem with my TAC 21. Scope mounted with ATRS high rings and the scope bell sits about 6mm from the chassis. Cheek riser adjusted and it's all good.
 
I currently have a 50 mm scope in what I believe to be medium rings. They've been kicking around for ages. I don't have much room between my barrel and the objective lens. So little that my bikini scope covers can't fit. I like this set up since I'm not a long range shooter. Guess the mdt skeleton stock is out. It's looks so good though. Thanks for the replies so far
 
I was just shopping around for the same. Since the topic has popped up (thanks op).. I was looking at slim lined, basic ar stocks. Still look like decent cheek welds, and they are minimalistic in design.
I appreciate the comments, I almost ordered the skeleton MDT stock but just seems more complicated and pricey for what I need myself.

Have you look at the skeleton light? Its half the weight and straight forward.
 
I contacted XLR a couple of months ago as I was considering one of there buttstock for my 10tr lss-xl, I talk to them on Facebook and they told me they don't do any business in Canada. There is one small retailler in QC ( from the pictures it look like a shead beside a farm house) that sell XLR products. But on there site there was only one chassis and the price was retarded like twice of the US msrp or something.
