Fella's, I'm convinced that whether it be a rifle or shotgun, it should be slung off the right side of the butt stock, and the left side of the barrel (for RH shooters). I also like my shotguns wood and blued.
There are really good barrel and mag-tube clamps (looking at you S&J) that incorporate a QD sling attachment, but how are you guys slinging at the butt stock? Is there a cuff that I can attach that's solid?

I run the 5.11 VTAC 'A2' style adapter on some, which serves its purpose. That said, I prefer receiver plates. However, if I was dead set on a right-sided attachment point I'd finally pull the trigger on the Grovtac QD cup recommended above.

I have a QD cup drilled and recessed into my Hogue stock on the right side of my 870 and I opted to use an HK clip on a sling plate mounted to my SJ mag tube extension on the left side for the front. Slings very tight to the body with a Magpul MS1 sling.

I could have just used mlok QD cup on the foreend for the front but I wanted to keep the slide clean for my support hand.

Another option is the 3HGR Driven sling from Finland (designed for driven hunts).

It lets you walk hands-free while able to shoulder a rifle or shotgun as fast as the support hand can raise the forend, since the buttstock is already positioned at the shoulder pocket.

Same idea as an AR or X95 with say a BFG Vickers or Ferro Slingster on a lateral sling point on the buttstock.

These 3HGR Drivens are my favourite slings for the application you’ve described, and they’ve proven themselves (to me) many times in the field.

Here are mine:

These look like an awesome option! I wouldn't mind trying one myself actually.

Bonnie Packer offers similar setups at a lower price point. It was a Boonie Packer that was the inspiration for the Vickers sling.
Looks like free shipping is limited to the US now but they used to ship up here for free.

Waaa, waaa,. Calgary SC was kind enough to give me a call to inform me they don't have the sling in stock and would have to cancel the order. I'm on a wait list.

Googling Boonie Packer.

I like the idea of the quick adjustment. Ordered one off amazon called huntfighter.

It's looking like this might be the avenue to go. I just hate drilling into a perfectly beautiful stock...I may pick up another buttstock to use and leave the stock one separate in the event I want to turn the hands of time backward?

Incase someone is interested. It's good quality. Webbing under the paracord. It is easy snug up and loosen. Had to sand down the edges on the part where the webbing slides.
