so my issue is and maybe its just my SR but it seems at about 1000 rounds the mags are wearing out hard core any ideas on if its proventable or is that just the life span?

I have the steel lips one and they are fine so far. Maybe 10k rounds through them all. Wich part is getting worn?

if theyre hot lips, thats normal. Steel lips will outlast the rest of the mag. Buy steel lips.

More then likely you have the plastic lipped ones. Steel lips have seen 5000+ through my pair without issue

Try some graphite lubricant. Usually find it in hardware anywhere they sell door locks. Dump some in shake it around. Your mags should be good to go.

Thats because the factory rotary mags are the best magazine for the 10/22 hands down. Could you give a little more detail on how theyre wearing out? Are the plastic feed lips wearing or is it something else?

to be honest it just seems like the spring is going slack the rounds arent sitting at the top of the mag i tried blowing them out with an air compressor and on one of them i put a little graphite dust

I had the same problem with a couple of mine. I filed the inner lip down as suggested in Post #1 here and problem fixed.

i would try that but for the first 1000 rounds or so they worked just fine now there seems to be slack in the spring

It looks like one of my BC steel lipped mags' spring is starting to go. I've got about 3K rounds down range in my 10/22, though the distribution between the mags is not equal and I suspect the one experiencing the most FTFs has either a worn spring or is just really dirty. I wish these things were easier to clean.

I would try a little bit of silicone spray and work the follower up and down with a long wood dowel or similar instrument. The follower may simply be binding.

Picked up a couple of steel lips last week for my new SR22 from Epps. Pretty sure 24.95. Also picked up the loader. That is awesome. I couldn't imagine loading them by hand all the time
