As the title says...what's everyone using? There's so many options that I'm kinda lost
I want adjustability for lop and comb height. I see some are simple and some complex from $60-$400.
Is there really any difference between commercial and mil spec sizing?
This will be used on a savage FV to see how I like a chassis system before I go all out on a center fire model

Magpul CTR fits both tubes, adjustable lop and minimal wiggle when locked plus has the drop on comb .... Med. Or high. Depending on scope mount set up. Add a MDT folding adapter and you have a beauty set up....especially if it's the 16" barreled model,

But in my experience the only advantage of the mil spec tube is the ability to run the a2 stock on the ar15. Other than that they're pretty much the same (unless you're asking about dimensions, in which case the mil spec is quite a bit smaller in diameter).

I prefer the MDT Skeleton Lite over the carbine-based system due to the added rigidity. Also, the push button adjustments for the Skeleton Lite are pretty easy to use and the increments fit me perfectly.
The new adjustable carbine stock MDT is releasing with their LSS XL Gen 2 looks promising as well, with the added bonus of weight reduction and a removable cheek riser.

I'm running both the SCS (skeleton carbine stock) and the SRS (skeleton rifle stock) on two different builds and like them both! I think the SCS is a really good match with the LSS and keeps the weight down :D

The threading should be the same on both tubes. It's the diameter and shape that differs. The butt stock is where it matters.

There it is. That's where I was confused. I thought they had different threads as well

My chassis came in today. I was planning on taking parts off my jrc to see how it would all go my my rifle but couldn't find a long enough Allen key to take the grip off. I just ordered the ergo palm base flat top grip from mdt. I'll go buy longer Allen keys.
I'm still torn between butt stocks. Another site sponsor has one currently out of stock that I like the look of

Thanks. I think the LSS 22 is a gen 1 design. The closest I have to a chassis or ar is a Jrc9.

I think this 22 will be a gateway gun into other chassis rifles for target shooting

I run a Magpul acs. It fits me well. I would like to try the skeleton stock though. Just having a hard time parting with the money if it's only a looks thing. I have a limb saver pad on the acs as well. Pretty comfy.
