Buy a leupold they said it will be great they said.

Just saw your post. Hold off sending to Korth if you need it back fast! They have equipment down right now and are backed up 3-4 weeks Take it to the store and exchange it. Or wait

The scope isn’t necessarily broken, if it still holds zero. Sounds like some contaminate got inside during manufacturing and wasn’t seen during QC. Then shooting knocked it loose. Rare rare defect from Leupold. They will set it straight.

Not that rare with Leupold anymore unforunately, I know someone else a few months back who ordered in a VX-6 which had a dead fly inside it. Korth made it right but still...

I've also had 2 of my own VX-3i, both purchased this year, that had issues. One wouldn't hold zero the other won't return to zero after dialing the CDS up. Still haven't sent the latter in to get fixed as it works as long as I don't use the CDS turret for dialing for now so not sure I should risk sending it back so close to hunting season.

Local gunsmith also tells me he's verified over 20 some odd Leupold scope failures over the years. Only 1 Burris and 1 Vortex in same time.

As a side note, Korth has been awesome to deal with on the several occasions I've had to deal with them. I just feel it's more and more frequently that warranty is required on the Leupolds which shouldn't be needed in the first place... I'm up to at least 5 of my own personal Leupold products having to get fixed so far. Bushnell is far worse though. I won't touch a Bushnell anything anymore at all as every single Bushnell item I've ever owned (at least 9) has failed horribly and the minimum 6 months turn around time for warranty is not acceptable. I have more Vortex than anything else now and have only sent 1 vortex for warranty as the previous owner had fubarred it by crushing the scope tube, no other failures from Vortex or any other brand.
