Buy it for life- bolt action rifle

If you don't mind pushfeed, husky 1900, cg1900 etc. I have a classic 2000/fairfox (greek ebo) in 6.5 swede and the quality is excellent. 3 lug slick as snot bolt, 60* lift, super deep blueing and a nice walnut checkered stock. Accurate as all heck with 140s. (Not like 6.5x55 is hard round to load for)

I bought it from intersurplus and the description said good ++ condition. It looks brand new. They have one in '06 in stock and it keeps tempting me to grab it.
The Fairfox 2000 6.5x55 is a fairly hard gun to find. I have one in excellent condition. I wouldnt assume it is a 1000$ gun but was curious what you picked yours up for?

I have a 1981 Smith and Wesson 1500 in 30-06 and a 2021 CZ557 Ranger in 308…. I have had the Smith for 30 years. It’s a beautiful gun, very nice bluing with a great two tone wood stock, it’s definitely a “forever” gun. I am not a fan of the “floor plate” magazine. The CZ, I bought this spring. Also feels like it could be a “lifetime” gun. I like that it came with two mags, a 4 round and a 10 round. Also the adjustable trigger is very nice. It’s a beautiful dark walnut stock and CZ’s proprietary metal finish. All metal. Both would be considered to be a bit porky. My wife shoots a Marlin 336, also 1981 manufactured, again nice wood and a solid little gun, that will last another lifetime. Her other gun I am skeptical if it will be a “lifetimer”. It’s a Tikka T3 LH in 30-06, plastic stock, blued and just seems to be lighter built and potentially more fragile than our other guns. The bluing does not seem to be as bright as on my Smith. I clean/treat all our guns with G96… never seen a spot of rust on any of them.

I have owned lots of older guns of various calibers. Honestly, and this is just my opinion, I have found that the newer stuff( savage, Browning, Tikka etc) are just as good as the older stuff. I run a cheap ass Savage Axis in 308, had it many years, goes bang every time. I use my guns, drag them through the bush etc. I personally like the newer plastic stocks over the older wooden ones.
