buy my first handgun ??

Hi

A Glock is a good example. I find a 40 cal Glock very uncomfortable to shoot. I can shoot a Sig or a S&W in the same caliber all day long. There's just something about the Glock grip and the bones in my hand that don't get along.

Not to mention that they're so damned light that they recoil a lot. I find that my 5-inch barrel XD-40 (.40 cal, obviously) bucks less and has less muzzle flip than a Glock in 9 mil.

yes feel is a big factor, my friend loves glocks but i cant stand the feel of them in my hand. but a 1911 fits perfect and points really well for me

but it may be the opposite for you

most people will tell you to get a .22 for your first gun, this isn`t bad advice... a .22 will really hone your skills without breaking the bank... but you will get board soon and will want a ``real`` gun... my first gun was a Colt 1911.
I suggest getting a `real`gun first and then getting a .22... You can get into and competive shooting with a .22 like IDPA IPSIC PPC... Don`t get me wrong I love my .22 and I shoot it ALOT more then my Colt, but if I had to do it all over again I would do the exact same thing again.
I suggest getting a .22 you will really like and want to shoot.... I have a Tanfoglio Force 22lr I LOVE it great gun and it is really fun to shoot.

Most of the big name guns are reliable and accurate. However there are also some will be better than the others interms of how it fit your hand. big hand people will have more choice than one with small hand because the grips were desiged for double stack mag. Here is some infromations base on I shot before and I believed they are very good guns.

.45 ACP: Sig 220. kimber 1911
.40: XD 40
9mm: CZ 75B, G17, Beretta 92F, XD 9
.357 mag: S&W 686

These guns are very common and a lot of people love them.

what is the best caliber 9mm,.40,.45?

and the model ?glock,berreta,sig..........

give me your opinion for the best choice

thanks

Best to do what?
Best for whom?

Keep buying: start with Glock, CZ or Sig, then move to Kimber, Para etc.
CZ is probably the most accurate from all guns under $1500

Hi

Maybe another way to look at it:

Most stores you walk into will have a fairly fixed set of pistols on display. Kimber 1911's, Glocks, S&W revolvers, and Sig Pistols. Past that it will depend a bit on what market the store targets. There always will be other stuff, but it will vary store to store.

Within that batch check out (but don't buy yet):

Sig P220, 226, 229

Glock 17, 19, 26

S&W 686/617, 629, M&P

Kimber Any 5" barrel

That should give you a good idea of how you "relate" to a wide range of weapons. Once you know what fits and what doesn't, you can start to narrow things down.
