**Buyer Beware** Winchester 9mm 115gr FMJ serious issues!!!

Thats awesome, but until they develop some way to put 9mm through your .223 AR, I am not surprised you haven't had this issue.

And you have been here how long?

4 months?

I have seen at least 4 threads on this topic here, and at least the same on other forums in the last few years that I have been here. Surprisingly I have never really heard about this with many other brands except one complaint about some bad Norinco rounds.

Thanks for your insightful post though. :jerkit:

Here is a good collection of such complaints, and it took all of 1 minute on google to find.

Admittedly, I don't have copious amounts of range time with 9mm. Regardless, I spoke on your comment alone, that's why I quoted you...

So your witty remarks gain no brownie points, regardless how long you or I have been members here.

Everybody's gun seems to devour every variant of Win 9mm, even the ones with black sh!t all over the casings. Some people swear by WWB.

* and my google search of "9mm ammo reviews" turned up no reference to Winchester or "WWB", aside from very positive ones...

You're talking out your a$$ when you call Winchester ammo "crap". And your link is from 2007...

The only issues I've read about come from 2 Glock owners (including the one here), and it was only 2 that I could find... Whiney bunch, those Glock owners !

I have purchased a 500 rd box of winchester 9mm fmj factory new white box crap as well and by god I have had the exact same issues I litteraly had to recrimp at least 1 bullet out of every single box and alot there were at least two or three it was unbelievable, like they were reloading them in a half sleep state or something i thought the company i bought them from sold me reloads!!?? have never purchased another box of that cheap crap

Hmmmm........500 round boxes?
Like I said, I have fired thousands of WWB 9mm without an issue, but I am only familiar with the 50 and 100 round packaging. I have never seen (or at least not noticed) 500 round WWB boxes.

How about those pics of this bad WWB ammo. I just bought some of this and will be checking them. But it would be nice to see what I'm looking out for. I will for now visually check cases and OAL

I have bought and shot lots of WWB in 9mm. and have had some boxes that came with Nato Spec brass. It was all nice and consistant shooting but I did notice there was a slight difference in OAL from the commercial to the Nato brass rounds. I have never had the two different types of brass in one box though.
I suspect that if your rounds were as bad as you say that they are someones reloads. And if they varied that much in length you should have noticed it before trying to load them in a mag and shoot them. A 3/8th's difference in length would be very noticeable even when still in the tray packaging. Pics would be nice to see.

The link above with pics shows exactly what i found with that crap as well I had to run a #### load of it through my press otherwise i would have had to throw it out I will never cheap out and by that crap again you get what you pay for and as far as buying reloads, this was from a reputable seller!!!!!! so I am sure they didn't reload it and sell it as crap

Anyone who hasn't heard about this kind of thing happening with WWB hasn't been around for very long. The store has done nothing wrong. The factory has shipped stuff that should never have been shipped. I think they actually end up with a pile of odd ball stuff from line changes and machine adjustments - civvy to NATO, to other contract fulfillment ammo etc, and some bean counter looks at it and says "that's worth $###, box it and ship it". Incidentally the WWB 223 is really crappy brass, take a close look at it - porous and soft, it never lasts long. You're better off with MFS in 9mm, it works amazingly well - I was shocked at the accuracy it's capable of. In 223 either Fiocchi or S&B is miles ahead of WWB for the same money.

Here are some pics from a some Winchester 9mm 115gr ammo I bought last year. I bought 1000 rounds but had all these defectives in the first 500. The comparison round is on the left and is 9mm 115gr American Eagle.

I finished the last box from this order a month ago. What do you think the chances are for getting some replacement ammo are?

You can see the sizing issues with the rounds.
