This will be my first time buying ammo of any variety and I'm a bit unsure as to what I should get.

I want to buy 1000 to keep costs down, no lead, prefer to buy from a site sponsor but not essential.

Marstar has:

* 9x19mm Winchester FMJ FP 147grs. Brass Boxer $263.35

*9x19mm Winchester FMJ FP 115grs. Brass Boxer $263.35

Wolverine has:

*9mm Federal AE 147gr FMJ $237.84/1000rd

Or I can take the 3.5 hours of driving up to Ellwood Epps and see what they`ve got.

Any thoughts as to what I should buy?

Instead of driving 3.5hrs to Epps, drive 45 min to Target Sports.

And forget about mail in orders for ammo, unless it is something you cannot get anywhere.

$30 per 50, thats $600 for a case of 1,000...How is that a deal,when current pricing is $275 - $350 for a case?

Well that's what I was wondering. There was a reason I didn't include TSC in my original post.

I'm sure 20 boxes of 9mm is heavy but I doubt it costs over $300 to ship.

I just checked their website, and I missed that it was LE, which may be +P+ ammo. I could see that being more expensive, but not work 80% more in my book.

PM me. If you're in Mississauga there may be a spot right in town you can get some 9mm by the case. I'll check availabilty for you in the mean time. The cost will be somewhere around $250/ 1000 but they'll only sell by the case. Cheers!

Al Simmons should be able to set you up with a case of 9MM. I'd say around 250 after taxes and you can walk out with it that day and go shooting, no shipping ect.

epps carries the Remington UMC 250 rnd 9mm 115GR packs for around $65 however when i bought it last time they said they only had 2 packs left so i bought them then the toher day (3 months later) they said they were sold out didnt have any winchester hollow point or any igman .303 british or any lee loading press kits ethier so it msut have been a busy holiday season;)

they still had lots of 7.62x54r surplus tho... me and a friedn bought the last 2 crates of 7.62x39mm that was on the floor but they might have more there the guy i talked to said he could get more anyitme so....

i love epps but it seems its getting so popular everything is sold out before i can get any:mad:

anyways.....i havent heard much gooda bout the AE stuff the remington shoots not bad i think im going to try the 147 gr winchester from marstar your looking at next....

If you are looking at Target Sports I would check out the RUAG sintox 124gr at $289/1000. This is good stuff and less toxic if you are shooting indoors. I believe it is $279 at TSE and about $25-$30 to ship. Check out Combat Masters they have some great prices starting at $185/1000 for 9mm.

Oh yeah, that American Eagle stuff is not that great. Pay for what you get, so if it matter's stick with the better stuff in 124 for 147 gr. IMHO.

The AE ammo is no different than anything else out there. Anyone who claims to notice a difference in accuracy with factory ammo is delusional. The minor differences in velocity, powder, bullet weight/style are of no significance at pistol ranges. The shooter is the problem 99% of the time.

Call Le Barons, they usually have a 1000 round case, and you can save 7% with the club card.

Call them up and ask before driving 1.5 hours to Epps.

But don't be disappointed if Le Baron doesn't have any.

Translated from French, LeBaron means => not in stock. ;):D
