Buying a GSG-16 with C21

For $400, it’s a ton of fun for the kids. Mine runs well and the mags are decent and cheap enough. I’ve got a 795 and a 10/22. My 6 year old can load the Gsg mags on his own and can run the gun no problem. The other two just sit in the safe.
Probably 500 rounds though it and haven’t even cleaned it yet. I’d recommend as a cheap plinker in a heartbeat.

Do it !

There's a reason why 10/22's have been around since 1964.
When GSG came out with their 22lr 1911 copy I was excited about how it looked and bought one quick. After a few months reports started coming in that some of the "pot metal" slides started to fail with some serious injuries.
That was enough for me....sold the GSG 1911 quick and replaced it with a Ruger MKII. Maybe not as kool but there's something to be said about tried and trued steel designs, but I digress.....

I put over 25k rounds on a GSG1911 .22 without a single issue, pot metal or not that thing couldn’t be killed. I sold it about 3 years ago and it’s still going strong. GSG16 is a great plinker for the money, it’s not a top end firearm by any stretch of the imagination but they function well, are quite accurate and a hell of a lot of fun for the whole family

The GSG 1911 slide is aluminum NOT "pot metal". Mine (2014 production) has a steel insert at the slide stop. Right from the beginning I also added a ZRTS Performance Package (unobtainium now). I have now slightly over 7,000 shots through the pipe and it still shoots like a champ. Same accuracy as out-of-the box. Some people have 30,000 on their GSG 1911's and they still function well (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sHDRGZKyxc&t=79s). This is one of the best 22LR pistols on the Canadian market.
