I want to purchase a 91/30 soon. Which online suppliers have you guys had good luck with? I found some cheap locally but they are pretty rough. I want a numbers matching rifle with a good bore and nice wood. what can I expect to pay? free shipping would be nice too!

I got mine from SFRC last spring when they had them on sale around $100. You can expect to pay between $150 and $200 from what I'm seeing lately from most dealers. Mine is all numbers matching (except the bayonet) and it came with the usual cleaning kit and ammo pouch/sling. The bore on mine is a little dark but the rifling is strong. The buttplate has some pitting. Rest of the rifle is in very nice shape. That said, I hear the latest batches coming in aren't as nice as years past so YMMV. There's a post about one of the rifles they recently shipped over in the dealer forums.

I got a Mosin from the recent shipment. The only thing wrong with it is the stock is pretty beaten up and I have no idea why this would bother someone. I have a 1935 Hex receiver that is marked MO 49/50. The barrel is in fantastic shape.

This is what mine is like and I just recently tried it with the bayonet on and just like everyone said, without the bayo, the gun will shoot high and right, and sure enough, with the bayo on, it shoots dead on. All the others on the shelf didn't look much better than mine.

Can I ask where you bought it from?

That is typical for a stock ,flaking varnish and the add storage marks. Some will have small blocks of wood inletted during the referb process.I'd me more concerned about getting one with VG metal/bore.I'd rather pay $200 or so and have a shooter than less for a tomato stake Harold

Lots of good deals locally and online. The going price these days is about 200 bucks. A great milsurp rifle for any collection, ammo is readily available in commercial and surplus, and they shoot great whether just at the range or dropping whitetails. Its very probable that these rifles will no longer be available one day, just like all the others. I have several, some still packed in grease which I'll leave for my nephews.

Westrifle is my number one choice for buying Russian rifles online.

Bought mine from Wanstalls. Showed up well packed and only cost me ~$170 shipped to my door.
Completely sight unseen, but the rifle is in very nice condition and shoots very well.
We had a few locally in Winnipeg, but they wanted far too much for what they were.

Guess they tested them ready for action

Don't wait I got 2 one from a sponsor dealer and one from west rifle. West got a couple left, don't wait cause the one they got ar in awsome shape.

Got it from a local shop called Gone Fishing and picked from the ones they had on the shelf. Not sure who their distributors are.

They do have an online store but seem to be out of Mosins.

They still have some, they just don't really have staff that deals exclusively with the website, but they have a few in stock still. See if they let you look at a couple.

Just got my newest (to me) one from westrifle today. I tried to preorder early and I screwed it up somehow, so I thought I was gonna get from the bottom of the barrel. I asked for a pre '39.... Well I just opened the box and pulled out a beautiful (but damn greasy) '37 tula... (3rd mosin + at least 2 sks from westrifle)... Happy every time...

Wanstalls got theres from west rifle they looked really nice... I picked 1 up it was a little beat up stock for 189 then the next day came back to pick up stuff I forgot and they were unpacking them from west rifle so I bought another one a nice 1942 war time stock all matching and a brand new barrel is on it it's as shiny as can be the other one had some dark rifling but it shoots well so can't complain they're both good shooters.

I like seeing them in person as they can vary depending on what you want ie year and condition.

I've gotten 2 in the last month; one from SFRC and the other from West Rifle. Although SFRC is a FANTASTIC store go with West Rifle, their Mosins are really awesome quality and I am pretty sure they have free shipping on theirs. Mine from them was an all matching (including bayonet) '43 Izzy that look unissued with only minor handling marks on the stock from barrel band removal.
