buying a mosin soon

I bought my mosin from a local gun shop. $139. The best part was I hit to look it over before I bought it. I knew nothing about mosins and still don't but I got one with near perfect wood and has a nice bore. I went back to the same gun shop and now the mosins and SKS's are really rough. They must have found them at a major discount. Actually they looked really junky.

Thank you we are glad you liked it.

Wanstalls got theres from west rifle they looked really nice... I picked 1 up it was a little beat up stock for 189 then the next day came back to pick up stuff I forgot and they were unpacking them from west rifle so I bought another one a nice 1942 war time stock all matching and a brand new barrel is on it it's as shiny as can be the other one had some dark rifling but it shoots well so can't complain they're both good shooters.

I like seeing them in person as they can vary depending on what you want ie year and condition.

So far I've bought 4 Mosin-Nagants and 2 Sks from Westrifle(last year) and can say nothing but good about the whole experience. When I bought a crate of 7.62x54R ammo from them, they had an employee who lives in my area drop it off! You can't ask for better than that. Between them and our own CGN'r Weimajack, you can't go wrong when it comes to red rifles.

You usually gets what you pays for but in the case of the 91/30 with a decent bore it's a bargain. All the one's we had/have would shoot 3" or better groups at 100 yards with PRC ball. One hex cuts 1.25"! Many in the sub 2" class.Harold

Thank you for kind words. We try our best for every customer. We family business and we take are of our customers as our own family.

Ok just got my mosin today. everything looks great. really nice shape. just have to spend a little time on cosmoline removal. The bayo was put on backwards for shipping and I cannot seem to get it off. It is really on there. Any tips on getting it off without damaging it or the gun. Do I need to twist it off somehow or will it come strait off.

Ok, I got the bayo off using a plastic hammer. Just lifted the gun off the ground by the bayo, tapped sideways on the bottom of the bayo with said plastic hammer and after a few blows it popped off. Wood probably would have worked well too. I have heard that these rifles shoot a little off with the bayo removed . Is this correct? I don't really want to install the bayo every time I shoot as it is a ##### to get off.
