Buying a NEA. NO MAGS WITH IT?

Curious if this is the norm with other companies. I'm buying a AR buy NEA but was told it doesn't come with any mags?? This seems weird to me and frustrating because ar mags are hard to find.
 
It's not 'normal' per se, but AR mgs 'hard to find'? You're not looking very hard.

AR mags are like $20 and everywhere. There may be OTHER reasons not to buy an NEA AR, but the lack of mags included is NOT one of them.

If you mean P-Mags.... it will be a bit of a search for cheaper ones or you can buy the $50 dollar ones on the EE.

There are always other brands you can use that are not P-mags and they will work as well on the NEA.
 
My XCR came with a 5 rd mag but one of the guys at the shop I bought it from threw it under the counter and tossed in a pistol mag. Then another gave the extra pistol mag I grabbed to me for free. Not bad I say. But yeah AR mags are easy to find. Icearms has assorted USGI mags for $18 and Canada Ammo has LAR mags for $24 or $230 for a 10 pack. Quester gets regular shipments of Pmags for $20/gen 2 and other site sponsors are getting shipments. And there's plenty more and I haven't even included sources outside CGN
 
it has become normal in canada t0 ship an ar with no mag, the reason being is many of the companys that make the ar15s, dont want to get into pinning the mags.
also dont want to ship a pinned mag with the gun as if it turns out to be 5.6rds the whole shipment will get held up .
Most good retailers will inc a mag with the guns, if your in the biz of selling ar15s, you should be stocking 100,s of ar15 mags.

Why would I want to buy a AR15 and pay an extra 30$ or whatever how much for mags that I will most likely never ever use? I still havnt touched my 2 Norinco mags that came with my M4gery. Unless the AR15 is coming with Lar or Pmags I don't want to pay extra money for the mags period. NEA is doing the right thing by saving its customers money in my opinion.
 
A rifle that HAS TO HAVE a magazine, that comes without a magazine... I find that extremely odd.

What gun out there that has a hole for a mag in it doesn't come with at least one magazine? I think that is very odd... odd enough that I wouldn't actually expect to have to check the fricken gun does or doesn't come with one.

Maybe it's part of the reason the rifles are so inexpensive... oh wait

This is not an NEA rag, this is me thinking at least one magazine is to be expected. Saw one on the range the other day; neat!

dude im the last person in the world to want to defend NEA, but its not an NEA issue, its just somthing thats become common with ar15s imported into canada.
FYI my $3400 KAC SPR did not come with a mag .
But yes i do think a ar15 should come with a mag.
In fact i think if you buy a complete lower it should come with a mag.

That comment is unwarranted and really not indicative of anything, 2 years ago SR25's purchased from OST came without magazines and I damn sure that Darren cares for his customers, as for NEA not caring for customers - I would suggest baseless and without merit - yes they have made mistakes and rectified them & honestly I am convinced that not matter what they do it will never be enough to please certain people.

I now subject myself to the barbs that will ensue & dress in my Drifire clothes to combat the flames!!!

My AR didn't come with mags, wasn't an NEA... store just told me to go grab one off the shelf and he threw it in the case... gun manufacturers don't pin them so if they tried to ship across the border they would be prohibited and get confinscated, so it's just easier to get the guns without and then give you one or how ever many when the retailer sells it. Maybe the retailer doesn't include them, maybe they do, maybe they would have but forgot for some reason... I would say contact the retailer and ask and maybe they'll send you one... doesn't hurt to ask.
 
The kac I have coming to me doesn't come with a mag. But it comes with qd swivels and a case, so I can live with that. Bought some lancer l5 awm mags from cow boy tactical. I saw a destruction test and these faired much better than the pmag or the Troy mag. They still have them in stock as well. 40 bucks each.
