Buying a Sako 85 Kodiak, which Cal 338WM or 375H&H

I have one of each, I don't know which I would choose to be honest.
They both do the same thing.

Your friend seems to be full of knowledge that isn't so !

A 338wm is a long ranging heavy BIG game slayer that will kill deer deader than heck if called to fulfil that lesser task.

That said I vote for the 375 in a "Kodiak" for BC use. The "thump em" and "stop em now" factor is what I like about the 375.

But I'm from Ontario so my thoughts shouldn't count for much on this.

The .375. While a lot depends on the rifle design and weight the recoil is more of a shove than a snap like with the .338. Kind of like the difference between a .40 and a.45 ACP in a handgun. More stopping power for game that bites back.

I'm a handloader as well so for me cost doesn't matter.
