Buying a scope from the US

Yes I purchased a scope an "illegal" way. I had no idea of the rules untill I joined this site last week. I am only trying to find out if it will get here. So I like to hear of people that actually did get their scopes.
I don't condone what I have done. Definitly risky in losing your scope or getting in trouble.
Sorry for making this thread break any forum rules.

You pay your nickle, you take your chances. If it is intercepted by U.S. Customs, kiss your scope and your $$$ goodbye. No one can tell you if it will get thru or not. For those forbidden items, best to pay the extra and buy them in Canada.

I still don't understand why people cant wrap thier heads around the export laws of scopes from the US. There is a sticky at the top of the optics section stating the facts.

Yup, it sucks, but thats the way it is.........

One more question. In my case, can the ebay seller get an export permit for that scope before its shipped? Or is it up to the end user in Canada to obtain the export permit.

Next time I will for sure get the right papers.

EDIT: I see this question was covered in that sticky, nevermind answering.
