Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to read.
I've shot an 870 Wingmaster for 30+ years, at pretty much everything there is to shoot at. I'm pretty beat up (back and shoulder are gone), and can no longer handle the recoil. Time for a new gun.
Primary aim is to bust clays- trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Understand that no gun will do it all perfectly- that's ok, I'm never going to be a competitive shooter, this is just for fun. 2 3/4" is all I'll need, as if I do go hunting again it'll be over decoys.
Requirements are reliability, function, and the softest felt recoil available. Not looking to spend a lot, but will go up to around 2,500$ for a good gun. As an aside, I'll be buying 2 shotguns- my wife and I shoot together, and she's about done with the 870 recoil as well.
Looking hard at the Remington 1100 competition, as well as the Benelli Vinci Supersport.
Any and all advise is very welcome- thanks in advance.
Cheers- Garry
