After seeing the "buying a SKS in Vancouver" thread I thought I would ask the same question for the Calgary area.
I am wanting to buy a SKS, I just want a good shooter, any suggestions on who is a good dealer in the area or should I wait for the Calgary gun show?
Thanks in advance.
Steve

I just bought a nice one in canadian tire, but that was in Leduc not Calgary.
Great place for ammo, etc.
The Leduc guy gets it.

IN Calgary I'd start looking at Wholesale Sports or the MacLeod Trail Canadian Tire. Wholesale had some pretty decent ones just a month or so ago.

Waiting for the gun show is a crap shoot...you might find something nice, but I doubt you'll find any amazing deals.

I bought a real nice one at the gun show two years ago for $220. 1952 Tula, very light refurb. I also noticed Cabelas has a bunch for $220 as well. Didn't handle them so I can't speak to their quality

I bought mine from Cabela's. The "premium hand picked" what ever that means lol. I paid $299.00 which i know is a by no means a deal but the rifle itself was very clean, unissued and all matched up. I had looked at the Calgary Shooting Centre but the Cabela's guns were in much better shape. The CSC guns are good value if you plan to do a Tapco or ATi stock. The big gun show is on the 26th this month so Id hold off and see if you can score a deal down there.

Canadian tire on MacLeod (NoSale Sports can kiss my white Scottish ### ).

Or wait for the Easter Gun Show. There will be tables full of them, quite often at good prices (lots of competition), and you can pick and choose.
