Anyone have an idea what it costs to have ammo shipped from either WS or cabelas to eastern canada. I am looking at buying say 12 boxes of shotgun steel shot 12g.
I cannot seem to get a firm price from them when I call.
Is it like under 75.00 , or over
thanks for the feedback

buy your ammo from someone else cabelas stores are not worth the trouble to buy from. the usa store will not sell you anything and the canadian store does not carry that product.

Do you mean from Canadian stores,or from the USA?The US stores won't ship ammunition to Canada. As for shipping ammunition,It cost me around $60 to ship 5000 rounds of 22lr from Nova Scotia to Alberta.

I am talking buying from cabelas or w sports in canada, there are no gun shops withing 6 plus hours of me to buy local.
I normally reload everything but have no hulls left so have to buy factory for a while again in 3" and 3 1/2"

I just spoke to a individual in shipping as Wsports and they indicated they use a flat rate now for ammo of 45.00 plus the pst for your province. Have you guys heard anything like this before. She indicated I buy one box of ammo the shipping is the same if I buy 50 .Feedback please

Just buy a few flats to make it worthwhile. Remember ammunition is both heavy and an explosive; even if it didn't weigh much most carriers still have a dangerous goods tariff that the shipper must pay.

From personal experience I would much rather deal with Wholesale than Cabelas.

Yes I asked about the 16.00 haz mat and she said it was included now in the 45.00?? If this is true yes we will be ordering by the flat since it is impossible to get 10ga etc here.

I got a call from Cabela's today.

1 Pound of Varget... $92.17 Hazardous Shipping Fee.

...What am I shipping, nuclear materials? I mean, REALLY?

Needless to say, I didn't need the Varget THAT badly.

You live 45 minutes away from the largest powder dealer in Canada.

Varget is $28 for 1 pound, call ahead, pick it up.

;)
Nuclear material would still cost more
And really, any shipping is no different. There's no sane reasoning behind the fact that I can get a book shipped from the UK cheaper than I can get the same one shipped from Ontario. Except of course Royal Mail has that small packet media rate that Canada Post lacks.

If you're in a gun club or have some buddies who enjoy the sport, maybe a group order....takes the bit out of shipping. If you're near the Cape Breton side of NS....I need primers :)

Word is a new gun shop is opening in Sydney this saturday, That will be the 1st gun shop here in probally 10 years . Be interesting to see what he will stock.
Hopefully reloading stuff.

If only Cabela's in Canada was 1% of that store is in the USA.

Still SIR in my books, same ####ty service as always, just a different sign on the door. I stopped shopping there years ago due to the horrific service that I am sure can't be topped by the second worse retailer in the world.
