Buying antique firearms from outside Canada?

This is probably a FAQ question, but couldnt find it anywhere. Are there any regulations on buying antique firearms from the US or other countries?

There are no papers required to bring a antique into Canada but if it is opened you have to prove the firearm is antique . some US dealers will ship to Canada some won't . So the easiest way is to find one you want to buy get pics serial # make model etc. then send this info to the tech. e-mail at the top of this page at the CFC asking for a antique status letter for the fire arm fax this to the seller have him put a copy in with the gun and you should not have any problems at the border .
