Buying firearms with undisclosed damage

I replied to him on the other forum that he would be SOL to get a return after such a long wait, he told me that many others here agreed with him...LOL

I bought a handgun from a high-feedback guy on here and immediately asked for my money back - the safety lever was broken off - he refused and I gave him negative feedback - so he made up some cockame lie and left me negative feedback. Sometimes good guys make mistakes or miss something - that is not a problem - it gets sorted out or a guy can forgive it - but some guys are less than honorable - that is hard to take.

Sorry

Yes,I was pd off and posted some complaints about the company. Maybe I
shouldnt have because I bought quite a few from them before that and only really had one other problem-a badly damaged gun from their poor job of packaging. But the one I was complaining about in this post was very obvious damage-IF you took off the barrel-which I did not although it was a shotgun and not difficult to do so. Someone had heated and cut the barrel extension-
Browning Auto Five-and left a partly smoothed over hole there. Funny that they always took the barrels off to ship the others I bought but left it on for this one. I never thought of that until after. But OK,I didnt inspect it fully,
My fault. lesson learned

Yukon have you talked to them and asked if they will maybe meet you half way? Perhaps they are not willing to take it back but maybe they will help you get it to where it should be? Never hurts to ask and better if you ask nicely.
Honey and flies.

That sucks, Yukon. But the five month interval really hurts your argument. Most reputable dealers will put something right if you complain in a timely fashion but 150 plus days is pushing it. And dealers do not generally tear a firearm down before selling OR BUYING ONE, so they may have been burned as well.

Not only reputable dealers, but just regular guys here do things right. Recently I received a rifle from a member here that, in my opinion, was not what I had paid for. I contacted the vendor immediately. Neither of us were pleased with the situation. Nobody likes a deal to go sideways. We worked it out, both of us learned something from the experience, and I would deal with him again in a heartbeat.

I have never had a firearm returned, but several years ago a member was not happy with a scope mount I sent him. Easy, just send it back for a full refund.

The fly in the ointment in original posters situation is the five month time lapse before notifying the vendor. Having said that, I would think that the vendor would consider some adjustment if he were approached properly, and not beat up on the net.
