Buying from Quebec

Yes, all the firearms in Qc, including the new comings still have to be registered by law. But as soon at it leaves the Province, they can't keep track of them.

And right now, you have a lot of Quebecers buying guns in other provinces, as nowhere one have to give his Province of residence to buy a firearm as the PAL is a Federal matter... if ever the Gvt of Qc wins, they will have a hard time trying to keep track of all the firearms in (and out of) the Province.

So with the registration still in place in Quebec, is anyone from outside Quebec purchasing firearms from Quebec dealers or private individuals? I have passed up a couple of good deals, because I won't be a part of Quebec's nonsense.

First off, Quebec may have the official injunction, but many provinces are still registering through ledgers and other subtle ways.

Second, you have a PAL (I assume). You think ‘Big Brother’ will skip your door because you have no 'registered' firearms?

Expect the worst and one will never be disappointed I guess. I just purchased a long gun from a fellow CGNer in QC and I am indeed curious to see how the situation plays out, since I have just put payment in the mail this week. I'm expecting the gentleman to check the validity of my PAL with CFC and notify them the gun is being sold to an out of province resident. I don't really give a rat's a$$ what the Quebec government does at this point. I expect they will lose their appeal and the entire registry will be scrapped. In the meantime...
