Buying Mags from the U.S.

They must be manufactured to comply with the 5 round limit. They are shipped across the border by the manufacturer certified they meet canadian regs. Which usually mean a special order and increased pricing.....

They don't ship. 30 round mags by the box load to a store and hope someone pins them when they get there................

Dealers sell to LE/GOV who do not have the 5 rd rule. ;) I believe they bring them in full cap and sell some to LE/GOV unpinned and pin some to sell to the rest of us.

Can some of you guys clarify something. Has anyone hear just ordered mags from the States directly. Also, as far as mag capacity, is It illegal to just possess a high cap mag, or just illegal to use it in a firearm. The reason I ask is it would be nice if they could just be ordered and pinned myself.

There's frankly no point since Questar started selling the ten-round AR pistol mags in Canada. It's so much hassle getting the mags sorted out in the US. And you're at the mercy of the opinion of CBSA so why bother...

I was thinking along the lines of trying to get some PMAGS, they are pretty hard to get in Canada, and when they are in, they are usually sold by the time I hear about them. Thats the main reason I wanted to know if we could order mags direct and pin them ourselves. It's looks like it's not worth the hassle.
