Hi all,

Im looking at a used honda fourtrax350es as my first bike...

are these reilable ?

anything i should look out for ?

how many kms will these bikes go for before major problems will occur ?

is 8000 km for a 2000 model a lot ???

can anyone recommend something reliable .. doesnt have to be honda just reliable and under 4000 preferably...

thanks all

p.s if you have something decent for sale let me know !

The 350es is a very relable machine, but 8000km is a fair bit of mileage for a quad. The 350es or a big bear are both good choices for a used quad.

Do what I did. Call or better yet visit some rental stores. Ask who they rent to and which makes and models gives the least repairs. Which do they get the least complaints on being reliable, etc. I think you'll find the answer is Honda. The 350 is a good unit and that milage is acceptable. Does it have electronic shift?(yes I see by the model # it does) Good choice. In the end let your eyes be the judge and your pocket book your guide----Cowboy

8000 is not bad, I have 7900 on my 03 Suzuki Vinson. Hondas are a good bikes, as said above the drum brakes suck, and I think parts for Hondas are more than any other manufature. How much are they asking for it? Also, STAY AWAY from polaris quads. They are JUNK

buy one you can man-handle should you get stuck......350 is a great machine and honda parts are nearly everywhere.....you made a good choice

WAAAAY too high. Good machine, but too many clicks for the price.

I don't agree, nobody is giving them away. It's not like you will pay $3800, that is just the starting point. Should be able to get it for $3300.

Tires will decide it in my mind, tell us about the tires, what kind, how much tread and does it have a winch?

very ngood tires, and youd be surprised howe much new tires can cost the ones on my atv were 90 each new mud lite super swampers

ITP makes mudlites, Interco AKA Super Swamper makes Vampires and Swamplites.

that confused me , i think its the swamplites ill go chek if ya want:D

ya its swamp lites although they do wear down quick from trail riding

No need to go and check, I just posted to make a small correction. I know you were confused ;)

Now back to talking about miled out Hondas for way too much money :D

the tires on that atv are definately in good condition, there doesnt appear to be any cracks in the plastic or rips in the seat, it does look like its been lightly used for chores around the cottage but it makes one curious how it got 8000 km.if i were you id get more info on it, and the back tires are stock but the fronts are not.

Ohhhhh man I've been waiting for a post like this. Heres a local website

www.trackshare.com

from Manitoba. Ask all the questions you want and search the for sale section. You have to scroll through the forums to find what you want but my opinion is that it is one of the best atv sites.

I personally drive an Arctic Cat 400, it's the first machine I've bought but I've rode yammi's and hondas too. I likeit but find that is under powered, You will always want more power though!

My advice is to buy something 500cc or bigger, as I find my machine is under powered for my liking. A definite plus is having the machine liquid cooled, and these bigger machines come with all the neat little options like 2wd or 4wd select. and diff lock, both are big helps when your in the mud. And you will be playing in mud.

My advice is to ride all the machines you can and find one that is comefortable. 8000 km's on a 20000 machine is real high, try to find something with under 4000 km's, and you should be safe. You should also check with all the dealers you can, now is the time they are trying to clear out inventory. Thats what I did and got a good deal.

Pass on this machine and find a better one.
