So a friend of my parents found out I have my gun license and asked me if I wanted to buy 3 old pistols off of him, he has no idea what they are worth but said he doesn't want to turn them in and would rather sell at a good price. He has a .357 stainless revolver, 9mm colt auto and a .32 something or other maybe a colt, really old. Said they were all registered under the old system a very long time ago? Whatever that means? I'm wondering if the .32? Would be considered antique? Would you need a licence to purchase?
What should be offered if all in good shape. Going to look at them next week so trying to prepare myself.
Anything will help
Thanks

Too vague to even guess, the .32 is likely a prohib. (maybe old enough to classify as antique but doubtful) so the .32 would likely be a no go for you. Have a look and let him throw a number out there.

Ok thanks for the help guys, he obviously doesn't want a fortune for them so I was going to offer 300-400 I think he wants them to go to someone and not be destroyed or whatever they do with them when turned in.

You don't have any antique in that lot, but you may have some 12/6 prohibs, do you have 12/6 on your license ?

.

Just an update on an old thread
They were all turned in, I could of purchased the .357 only. The gentleman was 93 years old, retired rcmp, sadly preparing for his death.
I found out what the "old system was" I'm sure you can figure that out.

Oh no!
The restricted could have certainly been registered, others could have been parted out and frames chopped if not previously registered.

Very sad
