Buying SWFA SS from America, anyone has idea of duties and taxes?

I think you can find better kit in Canada at better prices. Hell even the Bushnell Elite fixed 10x is $250-$300CAD, made at the same plant in Japan as the SWFA.
I'd still get some kind of variable personally, much more versatile.

live anywhere near a border town? over 70USD to ship, when they offer it free in the USA. Most border towns have a store (often UPS) that will receive packages for Canadians and charge a small fee...mine in Ogdensburg NY charges me just $5 to receive a package. I just drive down, pick up my packages, grab whatever else i need, fill the tank up with cheap gas, and simply declare it at the border...often no taxes charged either! they just wave you through

If SWFA ship to Canada its because they have the proper export permit. You don’t.

I'm saying if you believe the optic quality between the two is the same, you should both get your eyes checked, as well as sell your overpriced S&B. You know how many SWFAs you could have bought with that money?

I just had them checked. 20/15. First time since I was a kid and I told the doc going in they’ve always been better than perfect.
I’ve got both scopes in my possession. Do you?
Yes. Since I bought both, I know exactly how many I could have had with the money. If I had to do it all over again I’d still have both.

Well, that Bushnell 10x fixed has mil-dot reticle and MOA turrets, for meaningful tactical shooting a non-starter. The reason for fixed power scope is, less moving parts, therefore less injection of variables and far better reliability. When you buy $600 variable tactical scope(here in Canada) with matching reticle & turrets, it simply won't track and if it by an accident will, not for long. We don't go through all of these hoops to get our SWFA's for nothing.

Congrats on your vision test and your purchase history. Well done.

Sightron S-tac....$650, 3-16x, zero issues with these optics. They also make a 2-10x for $550, both are miles ahead of SWFA in terms of clarity, durability, usability, and value.
Strelok has no problems converting mil/MOA and telling me how many MOA are required to get to various ranges. Also a range finder is far more accurate then reticle ranging...you know, for serious tactical shooting but actually hitting the target first shot lol.

Miles ahead in durability? How long have you owned and how many rounds have you fired using the S-Tac? Same for the SWFA, how long and how many rounds? How many samples of each make?

Another better option that doesn't have your money going up in smoke to shipping/conversion and fees

I don't know man. I'm pretty sure the US Navy torture tested the SWFA. Can't say the same for the Sightron.

Should buy a Leatherwood then from the Nam era...being issued and all I'm sure they kick ass lol
I’m sure in Nam era they were.
The SWFA SS fixed 10x is still a very current, accurate, affordable, army tank robust, battle proven optic that has unmatched clarity for the price. Your Sightron doesn’t tic all those boxes.

Yeah, I bought S-tac 5-20x50 a little over a year ago, the unit was defective right out of the box, it tracked by minutes of barn, returned it as defective, asked for my money back and I shall not buy another made in Phillipines scope. Same as Vortex, yes, great warranty, only one problem, you keep claiming it. I want to sight-in and shoot, not sight-in, shoot little, send out for repairs and repeat. I grew out of that. Give your S-tac 1500 rounds of mild .308 and see how it performs, never mind 3k rounds

AND! You get 3 free meals a day at a federal resort when you get busted for ITAR! Good plan!

It sits on a 7mm mag, no issues dialing from 100 to 1000 and back. If it breaks down I'll let you know lol.
Even have a sub $200 Philippines Nikon sitting on a 9.3x62 and it's still very alive.

I'm sure in 1993 the Tasco Super Sniper was the bomb too. 26 years later optics have improved...
