bahahaha. Spread was 13 inches. Some tasty meat though :)

The rifle may look nice, but it's obviously way too heavy...... Completely flattened that moose just by being on top of it......

Had no camera on site, and the moose did not make for a nice image. Rather blah, had Spikes and two little starter pans, so I call it a six pointer :)

Rifle felt like a feather with pellet gun recoil at the time of the "action". God bless the .375 H&H

Hey NL, I don't see where you say you are going to get all that good eating from.........looks like that 375 done blew all the meat away.......eyelids look good and still intact though (most important part) and the nose and tongue should be good.........may be able to boil some meat from inside the hooves.........

All the good eating is at the butcher. Just thought the fur, head and hooves would make a more interesting image to post with the banger.

Tongue is cut out, so no "tongue in cheek" sort of speak. :) Even took out the brains one year for someone. Used it for "potted meat"

Antlers wil be given to a carver friend. If there was a tannery I would even get the hide done, makes for excellent leather. Liver was given to an ex hunter that cannot hunt anymore but really enjoy the liver. Heart will also be cooked. Only thing left to eat would be the nose, some even eat that. Well, the "oysters" was also discarded.....

Me and my brother went up north on a scouting trip seen lots of Buffalo caribou deer and sheep but not one moose or elk hardly and no tracks and it was muddy and raining like crazy
I was planning on staying up north but looks like sum slim picking after all the fires
I had no clue how bad the forest fires were this year in northern BC
So just going to save sum money and hunt around home this year.

I've got a tag, first time hunting moose in this province. Hunted many years growing up in NW Ontario and took a few back then. Went out to ask permission to hunt in an area the other day but ended up watching a young bull, a cow and a calf for a while instead. The cow was way bigger than the bull and didn't see the calf until the other two walked into the bush.

Picture is from my phone, if I get one this year I promise there will be better pics

An important reminder to only take eye shots between blinks to avoid this type of travesty.

How about this:

Saved the best for last :).

Got back late last night, We were out 9 days , called in two bulls who busted us by coming in further downwind than we gave them credit for, One we pulled into an area but didn't win the jetboat race to in the morning.
This guy we worked late one afternoon and pulled down off the hill, next morning we drifted down, tied the boat up and got into position. 20 minutes later I called once and he came right in. I dumped him in the neck with a 168 ttsx out of a 300 win mag dropping him and my partner Al ran up and gave him a 286 grain partition from his 9.3x62 to the chest for good measure.
Nice big body with a 44 inch spread, not a monster but will be tasty I'm sure. Bottom pic has the recovered bullets next to the knives , both worked as advertised and were recovered on the far side under the skin.
