The n block at Mauser Oberndorf is sort of an interesting block. Produced late 44/early 45 it was sort of a "catch all" for odd stuff and left over early parts such as standard stocks. Serial numbers were hand stamped and follow the late numbering pattern. While the n block rifles aren't really rare, ones built on byf44 receivers are pretty scarce. The vast majority were built on Mauser Berlin supplied, ar44 marked receivers and Astrawerke supplied, bcd4 marked receivers.

This rifle is a vet bring back purchased from the vet's family. I have his name but unfortunately not much info on his service.

Somewhere along the way the stock was sanded pretty badly but since it is unnumbered, I was able to replace it and I actually already had an unnumbered standard stock almost the exact some color as the original sitting here waiting for a project action. I was also able to track down an unnumbered handguard that has virtually the exact same color and grain as the original as well. The bands, bayo lug, band spring and buttplate were transferred to the replacement stock as well so it's as close to original as possible. The bolt is an FN produced piece but extremely crude for them. By far the crudest FN bolt I've seen.
