Pics are a must for an actual appraisal. I'd suggest taking some nice high res pics of the rifle and getting in contact with badgerdog. He knows his stuff and has quite a few nice mausers.

I'd say it is worth more than $400 if it is all matching vet bring back. I am not an expert on this but your probably closer to $600 "retail".

A lot of the K98's I've seen for $400 have been mix masters.

"Vet bring back" means absolutely nothing to the value. Unless there is all kinds of verifiable documentation, then it is just kind of neat to discuss the possible story, but with cold hard cash, most if not all collectors will not pay an extra dime. And the said documentation must have some sort of historical importance to someone, or all that it is, just a neat story.

indeed.

600 for a true, no flaws all matching k98k... ill take them all at that price!!! i honestly thought the prices had gone even higher due to the high demand for these beutey's.. but its nice to see they still sell for a reasonable price.

where did you see one in that price range sks canuck?

I would buy every one that I see at that price. When bolt mismatches are selling here for $750-$800, who knows???
