Bygone Models

I will likely first try IMR4350, RL17 and RL22 with some 180 grain bullets such as Hornady Interlock, Speer Hot-Cor's and Nosler Accubonds. Until my dies and brass arrive, I'll sight in this weekend with some old factory 180 grain silver tips. I will post some results and range pics now that I finally figured out pictures...

For my 300 H&H's I'm going with 150 and 165gr. Accubonds (primarily a deer hunter) with IMR4350, H4350 and Reloder #25 and #26. All rifles have 26" barrels, therefore velocity will be no issue. I'm just waiting for my gun club to open, it's presently being renovated, otherwise I would of had some load development under my belt.

That Browning is a tough act to follow!

Tonight, I shot a Sako Forester Varmint in 243 Win. Bygone models... arguably the best.

That's a really nice rifle, Buckmastr! A Sako, 243 Win. with a heavy barrel, has to be a really great shooter. It appears that the rifle came right out of the manufactures box.

I don't have a stupid crazy collection as my rifles are to use but my favourites in walnut/blue steel are my three 1950s Husqvarna hunting rifles; two in 270 and one 7x57.

An additional beauty of it all is that they were hand-me-downs from buddies who didn't need them.

Ah, Mauser 66, a stunning example of everything being put in a wrong place at a wrong time, yet still functioning despite the odds.

Did the make them in both stock styles in the same period?

There were a few different stock styles for the CF2's, the roll over Monte Carlo cheekpiece oiled stocks and basket weave checkered high gloss (same style) are the early versions, the 222 above is the later style, lacking the roll over.

6.5x55, have a couple more...one in 30'06 and this one in 222Rem that is pretty mint.

You, along with Shell Shucker are fortunate. Those BSA are really nice and in great condition. Quality of these bygone rifles are awesome!
