C.I.L. # 2 1/2 Primers

Recently received 800 of these in Original packaging, what were their intended application. They are for sale

I bought a carton of CIL 2 1/2 primers at a gun show earlier this year, on the carton it says: For the following C-I-L Cartridges, 38-40 Win, 44-40 Win, 45 Colt, 455 Colt. Someone posted a primer cross reference chart at one time, it said CIL 2 1/2 primers were large pistol primers.

Large pistol. These are amongst the cleanest primer you will ever use.
Absolutely no need to clean a primer pocket after using CIL primers.

I still have a few of those 2½'s, some 1½'s, about 1200 8½'s, and 1500 8½M's.
I consider the latter two an "elite" primer, and save them for specific uses.

Use with confidence. If they have been stored properly, they last indefinitely.
