Just got this rifle. ~$200 into it. No issues upon inspection save for a crack in the stock, which was a quick repair. Got about 8 shots out of the thing before it fell apart in my hands.
I've done some searching and these receivers are seemingly impossible to find. Am I better off just scrapping the thing?

Ouch!

I think it is land-fill; maybe someone could tig weld it, but alignment and refinishing could be real issues, and no guarantee that it would not break again. I'm sorry for your trouble.

Receiver is a Zinc Alloy mix, not weldable.
Best thing you could try is a Epoxy like Devcon steel putty.
Western Gun parts may have a used one, or it's a gunshow find.

Back in the early 70's I worked on hundreds of those... sorry to say they were nothing but trouble... probably the worst firearm Anschutz ever made. Continued on with the 330, etc, on up to later models.

Cut your losses and sell any parts you can.

Anschutz didn't make that model or any of the other semi's with the name Anschutz on it (e.g. 470, 520, 525). It was made by an Italian arms maker and then rebranded as Anschutz and imported and sold by CIL in Canada with its name added. They were made by either Sovereign or Mariocchi.

That's the first time I have heard that Anschutz didn't make them... so you are saying Anschutz licensed Sovereign and Mariocchi to produce the model 300's and the following models.

I know Anschutz made many bolt action .22's for CIL, the 125, 310 and the 190 being big sellers...

Back then I was doing warranty work for CIL and the CIL rep was Bob Kemp, a real nice guy. He implied Anschutz was making the 300 as well.

I believe they were marketed under the Marocchi name as well. About the only way to get a receiver would be from a parts gun.

Wasn't there a Marocchi version set up as a survival rifle - the whole thing went into a plastic case?

I have the same problem with my model 470. It broke in the same spot as OP. I was wondering what to do with it, but after reading the replys here it looks like it's time to just part out what I can and cut my losses.

Don't know what the demand for parts is like - I've had a set of action parts for 20 years...

Same with cars, the same parts wear out of break on every vehicle. In this case, the receiver is the weakest link. Many years ago when I was still practicing as a Funeral Director I got a great deal on a 1967 Cadillac Superior Three Way Hearse. Body was immaculate except for the rear bumper. Those bumpers had a shelf and a lip inside that held dirt, salt and moisture. I searched all over north america to find a replacement bumper, and even the ones on Arizona were rusted out. I never did find one.
