Just stopped by Al Simmons and picked up 5 of these metal mags (aluminum I believe) for $30 each, never did like he plastic ones but these look like nice mags.

I bought 4 of them a last week from CSC in Calgary, and have had them out to the range already.

These are quite nice mags, really well made. They're crimped, instead of pinned, to limit them to "5 rounds of .50 Beowulf" - which is fine by me, it's a lot harder to accidentally get in trouble with Miramachi that way.

No-tilt follower.

Very clearly marked "5 Round .50 Beowulf" in several places - again, good for avoiding trouble from Miramachi.

If you fill them to the limit with "that other calibre" you can't (at least the 4 I have) quite seat them on a closed bolt. That isn't a huge deal, because:

a) I generally don't seat mags on a close bolt anyway.
b) Even 1 round down, you still end up with a higher capacity than other mags.

Fit and finish is great. I've dumped all 4 of mine a few times already, no cycling issues or problems of any kind so far.

I grabbed 5 of them from Al Simmon's this afternoon as well. Seem to be nice mags, but they are definitely blocked to 5 rounds of 50 Beo. My AA mags are pinned to 5.5 rounds of 50 Beo allowing me to insert the mag on a closed bolt, which I don't really do very often but it's still nice to be able to do.

I just missed out on the ones at csc so today I stopped by the other store in calgary to see if they had any but had to pass because I couldn't justify paying the $60 they wanted per mag.

Does Al Simmons have many more? I'm on vacation right now and would love to pick some of these up when I get back.

They had the c-products mags in the back, but I got the impression that had a lot of them. They also have the Odell mags, but they are $60 each and have had the spot welds drilled out on them for some reason.
