C1, C1 SMG, C2 and C5 O' My

I was an extra in this movie while in the reserves in Toronto. I was guarding the front doors to the HQ which was Osgoode Hall in Toronto when Peter O'Toole walks in. I am at the 1:31 mark in the fore ground. If you blink you will miss me.

Just as interesting are the Centurions, M38A1 Jeeps, M135 Deuces, and the M113A1s. The filming must have happened a year or two before the release date, as I didn't spot (although I only looked at it quickly...I'll view the whole thing tomorrow) any M151 or chev 5/4 tons. A fair portion of the vehicles have not been cam painted yet either.

All in all, a neat snapshot of the equipment of the time.

Actually a lot of big names, but the production value was on a very tight budget. Cool seeing all the Canadian kit along with the Swedish Ks. Our tax dollar, hard at work.

F5s, Tudor, T33, Hercs, everything in the CF inventory at the time. Wonder if the film would have been made, if not for our Government's assistance??

I know it was also called coup d'état and there were financial issues (unpaid bills) that delayed its release

Interior shots at 28:30 and others were taken in Fort York Armoury Toronto. I had a brief ‘polite chat’ with Hemmings but didnt recognize him at the time.

Does anyone know who supplied the weapons for the Dieppe mini-series? Myself and friends where extras in that and all those No4's where real. We where issued them out of a truck trailer full of them including Brens and several anti tank rifles.
