First, did the Canadian military have a program to inspect and rebuild the C1A1 and C2A1 rifles? Second, is there any instructions/standards that cover the rebuild of these rifles beyong what is covered in the Fourth Line Maintenance Instructions?

I have a U. S. Army Ordnance Corps manual that cover the inspection and rebuild of the US Fifle, Cal .30, M1 and use it to evaluate M1 rifles that pass through my control. With the increasing number of previoud owned L1/C1/Inch Pattern rifle around I would like to be able to do a complete evaluation.

Yes, there was a rebuild program but not the same way you are thinking for M1s. The FN C1s were delivered in 10,000 rifle batches from 0L###x to 8L serial numbers. There were some changes along the way, like chrome plating applied to very early barrels already cut to the right size, the A1 upgrade program and the replacable sight ears on later C2s and the 8L C1A1 rifles. Other than that, the rifles were pretty much the same throughout.

"...increasing number of..." You won't be finding many C1's or C1A1's. There are very few of 'em in circulation. Most of 'em have been chopped by our idiot government. There are parts around though.
The CF did rebuilds on an 'as needed' basis after Trudeau closed Canadian Arsenals in '75.
Oddly the documented very last C1A1 made is owned by a civilian. Don't know who has it now, but it passed through the shop I worked in during the early 80's. Sold for well over 3 grand Cdn as I recall. It went to 7 grand at an in store auction, but the kid couldn't come up with the money. Another guy bought it later.
