Hello everyone. I own a couple sks' a norinco M14, an M1 Garand, and a bunch of bolt rifles. I stumbled into the Black and Green rifles section recently, and see people discussing ar's, C7's, m16's and other stuff I thought were prohibited. Can you own a semi only version of these rifles with a non-restricted PAL? Thanks, Rob

well you could get an AR180B or a RobArm XCR with a non-restricted PAL

Not quite an AR15, but still cool, and non-restricted

Many members here serve or have served in the Canadian and American military, as well as members who perform contract work overseas.

I served in the CF until a few years ago, and I was always under the impression that AR15 and variants were prohibited, even in semi only version. It's good to know that if I got my RPAL I could build/buy a C7 clone, although not being able to hunt anything with it would be a downer.

There are a great number of people in the forces who continue to spread misinformation because they refuse to question anything they have been told.

Unfortunately you're right, and they may be the same people who would take offense to this type of comment. Its so important to ask questions.

Not everyone in the CF cares about civilian gun laws or has PALS or RPALS. I don't think anyone stated that the military is telling people that AR-15's are prohibited.

IT was going to be on the prohibited list, the DCRA however managed to intervene and convince On High otherwise that the AR15 had a sporting purpose.

It'd also make a fantastic varmint gun and when swapped to a different caliber a good hunting gun (Alberta law disallows 223 as a hunting round). If the AR15 was unrestricted all I'd own would be an AR. :)

there is no limit to the annoying myths and rumors that I have caught being perpetuated and continue to be so

....it makes my head hurt!
BTW i am not an expert but i know what i know and i know when people don't know what they are talking about
