Just to clear a few things up.

First off, I just got back from 3-09 recently, and was with the OMLT. I can tell you with 100% certainty that no CIVPOL was attached to the POMLT. POMLT is Infantry and MP's, that's it that's all.

Secondly and to confirm what was posted above, Leupold 30mm rings will work, unaltered, on a CF issued upper. I carried a NF NXS 1-4x on a set of super high Mark4 rings, and at the unmagnified setting the reticle cleared the front sight post perfectly.

As we speak, we (my dept.) have at least one swat Sgt with the US army MPs on patrol with the ANP. And 3 months ago, we had 2 constables (again from my dept.) who were with the US army MP patrolling the streets and roads of Kandahar and living for days in PSS. Anyway, I'll find out pretty soon (in about 2 months from now).

The last paragraph talks about the patrol in PSS.

Kev, what mounts are you refering to?

I managed to get a Larue mount for my TA11F (in case I get a true picatinny C7 upper) and currently running an ARMS mount. Ok, I know those are a POS..... Will you forgive my if I tell you I'll be putting a KAC quad rail on it...? :D

My bad, I suppose I should have prefaced my statement to make it more clear.... in the *Canadian* OMLT and POMLT formations there was, *as of TF 3-09 2.5 months ago when I was there*, no civpol in the TO&E of these organizations.

That is not to say they don't mentor ANP, or even ANA at times. We had a Civi Drug Enforcement type brief us and our ANA before Marjah.

I'm anxious to find out why they send us, Canadians, with the US Army....? It may change in the future, I don't know but will find out pretty quick!

They even made me fill out an application form for EUPOL in Kabul.

Leg, just to be clear. I am in no way suggesting that LEOs employed in a manner of being part of the POMLT have a 'jammy go.' As I said, they must defend themselves and therefore carry a rifle. I am merely saying that a Magpul CTR is a pretty gucci piece of kit.

Greg, you might have seen Leg there during the changeover from 3-09 to 1-10, Leg is with the BG.

There are some RCMP and such but they aren't there for the purpose of getting into a gunfight...even if it may happen.

Winz, I apologize for the misunderstanding. I must admit that you have me at a disadvantage, not sure who you are at the moment but you obviously know who I am.

Did my handover with the boys from C/S 11, didn't meet any OMLT during the handover. Must also admit that due to my current location outside the wire I haven't come across any CIVPOL and we try and stay as far away from the ANP as possible.

Wish I'd been able to find a weaver compatible scope mount prior to deploying. Got my IOR scope collecting dust in the barrack box. Good to know about the KAC mount though.

Stay as far as you can from the ANP...lol I'll try to remember that advice!

Just knew today that my deployment was pushed back in January... Phuck!!!
