C77 vs m855

The projectile aside, I found it to be dirtier and not quite as accurate as our C77. M855 also seemed to have a slightly different feel to the recoil - the greentip seemed to have more of a pronounced pop to it, almost jumpier.

M855 has aprox 100fps more MV than C77 in lots I have shot side by side using a 16" barrel gun as the test sample.
Both use a SS109 type projectile.

Canadian ammo is also significantly more accurate.
The acceptance for C77 was IIRC 5 CM at 100m, while M855 is currently 5.5 MOA

M855A1 has aprox 250fps more than M855.

Only better military 5.56 than ours is probably the Swiss. From my expirience and what I've been told by foreign soldiers is that ours is quite good.

Not that simple -- the Swiss ammo has a much thicker jacket, its accurate - and as a result it is not as effective terminally.

CF C77 has a slightly thicker jacket than American M855, from what I have seen there is a slightly difference in the expansion.

I should have specified, accuracy and reliability. I know nothing about the bullet jackets, type of powder used, etc.

That has to be quite hard on a weapon, a carbine in particular, no?

Also, doesn't M855a1 have a new projectile? How does it fair in terms of lethality compared to M855?

New powder, new crimping of the primer method (due to that primer).
Its a lot harder on guns.

Seems to fragment much more reliably - and yet still penetrate --
