Folks, a guy over on M4Carbine.net stumbled across something unusual--Diemaco furniture factory-painted FDE--and I thought I'd see if anybody knew anything about it.

Here's his question:
"What do I have here?? I know it’s Colt Canada, but after hours of searching, I can’t find anything. It sat on Armslist for a while, and I took a chance after noticing the Colt Canada Cage code. $25, why not!!lol I know the C7 and C8 came with green furniture, but I’ve never seen desert tan. Stock does have the N1 marking. I want to throw this on a rifle, but don’t want to break the plastic if I have something especially rare.

Edit: looks like the set was originally black or green, and was painted at the factory for the specific contract."

I would assume they came from a small CAF order for Afghanistan. I saw a few guys from the 3VP OMLT with those tan accessories in Afghanistan.

Here's a photo of a buddy's C8 with those accessories

There was some people that had these tan furniture issued. They were never mainstreamed though

As mentioned aptly, DND would have caused this to be done. The requirement would have been a small run which wouldn’t have justified making the furniture in Tan base material for a whole production run. So they had them painted instead. The majority of items made at the factory are driven by DND. The other runs are for foreign nations. LE market is tiny and commercial is even smaller.
