Before anyone says search it I am sitting somewhere with ####ty internet service and my cell phone... this site barely connects. and I am looking for your expertise. Also I have no photos so hold back on that comment.

A friend of mine is coming to see me tomorrow. He has a neighbour that told him he has a C96 9mm that his grandfather brought back fro. WW I. It hasn't been fired in years (since he was a boy and he is advanced in age now). I am hoping to see pics tomorrow

Assuming it's a Red9 with matching serial numbers and uncracked grips and in decent shape (bore and finish) can you learned folks gine me ball park ranges. They are asking me that and I have no idea. May have the original holster also.

I collect military firearms (mostly WW2) and I know a bit about the C96. From the condition you describe I think a fair starting point would be $2,000 CDN and probably quite a bit more if it has the original holster.

That's my opinion. I will wait for the C96 collectors out there to give theirs for a more exact value.

There was a batch of C96s in the last Switzer's Auction sale. They all went for four-figures and as about $2k is a good starting offer. Don't shoot modern military FMJ, but go for cast lead lower pressure loads.

Maple Leaf do you happen to know the sales prices at Auction give or take $500?
"four-figures" is quite the spread!

I wasn't tracking those lots. The sale had almost 5000 separate items. Go to Switzers Auction for the three days in February. The guns were sold on Saturday, and I think there were 1500 individual items then. https://www.icollector.com/auction.aspx?as=56968

OK, thanks I will take a look, just wondering if they were high, mid or low 4 figures..... :)

Looks like a 7.63 caliber sold for around $1500.00 and a deactivated that had been cut in half down the centerline sold for $600.
Some Schnellfeuer's deactivated sold for $1800 and $2000.
One butt stock sold for $520 and a Schnellfeuer stock sold for $975
