CAA AR Pistol Mags

Thank you!
We did not know that as have not had a T97 in to try them.
Now we know. Too.

It isn't the mags fault. I have "stanag" 5/30 steel mags made by bushmaster that don't fit, but the identical "looking" D&H metal mags fit in the type 97 beautifully. My gen 2 pmags work as well.

The issue with the type 97 and not fitting mags is the vertical trough at the rear of the guns mag well. It is too narrow. Some fine filing and clean up of the mag well would resolve the issue.

Good to know. Thanks again!

Beowulf plans were cancelled. Armtac has that licenced up dealer wise.

Curious to know how their patent is worded, as that would be like Ford telling me I can't build a fiberglass canopy that fits their truck.
Is their patent available online?

Unless they have patented their follower I don't understand how they could stop anybody from making a magazine designed to fit an AR 15 for which patents have completely expired.

Not sure on patent, but "Beowulf" is a registered "trademark"?
It really all boils down to how badly we want to risk being sued from a company that is located in the land of the lawsuit. Frankly the risk is not worth the potential profit from made from selling a few hundred mags.

Also CAA has told me that they would NOT make mags for us that are for the Beowulf for business ethics, the same as they will not make our pistol mags for other "retailers", which I respect them for.

On another note I see that there is a dealer here in Calgary selling 10 round CAA mags but they are NOT pistol mags, so by my understanding they are prohibited devices. The mags I speak of are easily taken apart to become full capacity mags. Be careful.

Like every 30 round Magpul mag sold in Canada. They are easily taken apart to become full capacity mags.

Yes but the differences are with the P Mag, they are sold as 30 round mags pinned to 5 and 1 must remove a rivet rather than just taking off the floor plate and allowing the loose piece of plastic used to block the follower to fall free.
AND they are not being sold as 10 round pistol mags, as they are not marked as such, which I agree is a stupid bit of law, but I really hate seeing guys getting screwed over by the law just for someones profit margin.
