Cabelas 7.62x39 Bulk Ammo Sale

Sale ends today but I assume these happen fairly often. Is $475 for 1440 rounds a decent deal for this ammo if I just plan to use it for plinking and target shooting?

I was going to order my SKS from Tenda this week anyways, might as well get the ammo from them as well.

While I’m pricing out ammo, where is the cheapest place to get 270? Tenda as well?

Tenda is 'Usually' the best price for 'most' ammo, but you need to buy $300 or more. If you're getting an SKS on the same purchase you'll be covered for that. Tenda used to have (until just a couple weeks ago) the 750 spam cans for $209.99. Those seem to be gone and down to 720s. Buy them b4 you have to get the 550-cans for the same price - - unless you think you need a s-load of stripper-clips.
 
Well, that's unfortunate. I was about to order something, now I have to find where to get it from.
 
I'll try Cabelas this weekend, see if they price match anyone, they have some stock and in-store wouldn't;t have a shipping charge. Otherwise, who has the best deal for some 7.62x39mm bulk ammo?

Rangeview Sports has corrosive milsurp ammo for $6.66/20 - $0.33/round. Sporteque in Drummondville QC has 1440 round crates for $516.95 - $0.36/round

Wild West has milsurp crates of 1440 rounds for $439.95 - $0.31/round.

Are ammobin.ca and arsenalforce.ca direct links permitted on this board, or should we just indirectly refer to them? I am aware that we are not allowed to post links to non-sponsor vendors - I am not sure if this extends to price aggregate websites which may feature vendors who are not sponsors.
 
Rangeview, Wild West and Sporteque do NOT have free shipping so price will be ca $50/case more unless you live nearby. I got 4-bricks of 22LR shipped from S for about $56 to NB - bumped the price $14/brick ! Good for price comparisons but I haven't seen Milsurp being sold in 20s for a while except some small LGS out here.

I found Sporteque last night but the shipping charges just kill ya. Tenda has not returned my email on when and if new stock arrives soon. I managed to find some local for a decent price but it's already on the strips which makes the price higher but still better than something like Cabelas, which is terrible right now.

quick questions. When it says corrosive, is it just the primers or other makeup of the ammunition? Is there a non-corrosive version of the 7.62x39 ammo? I noticed some of it is brass casings but it's pricey, is it also non-corrosive?

It's my understanding that all milsurp ammo from China is both corrosive and steel cored - Norinco, etc. I'm not sure about Russian Barnaul, but that source has dried up in recent years (1-2 years ago, is my understanding, in relation to the Ukraine war), I am lead to understand.

I believe, though long-time shooters of combloc ammo can correct me, that non-China, non-Russia manufacturers like PMC, S&B, RUAG and the like, make non-corrosive ammo using Boxer primers, but I may be mistaken. The website information pages on these types of ammo seem to confirm that they use Boxer non-corrosive primers

Norinco ammo in red (and other) color boxes (20 rounds) is not milsurp like the one in steel spam cans. The Norinco red box bullet has soft steel core which is lead sheathed and a steel copper-coated jacket. The primer is non-corrosive Berdan primer.
All brass-cased ammo, like you mentioned (PMC, S&B, RUAG, PPU, Federal etc), has lead-core bullets jacketed in brass (gliding metal) and non-corrosive Boxer primers. The brass cases can be easily re-loaded.
However, all non-corrosive, brass ammo is nowadays very expensive. For example, for 7.62x39mm caliber which I shoot, the price of a brass cartridge is in the range $1.50-2.00. This kind of ammo is good for hunting but prohibitively expensive for everyday target shooting/plinking.
