Cabelas can kiss my hairy ( ! )

SIR was #### too.

I have first hand experience dealing with both SIR, Cabelas Canada(SIR) and Cabelas inthe US and Cabelas Can. sucks the same way SIR did-oh yeah, its the same place.

I live in Wpg and have given themanager "What for" in person-they don't seem to care.

I cant believe Cabela's would want to attach their reputation to the old SIR run management.

the Canadian one is a real screw up, took them more then a month to ship a shotgun i order for a friend son for Christmas, wast of time.

Yes I placed an order for Chrstmas and they said everything was in stock only two of the five things showed then a day later one more showed and they charged me shipping on it. I called and raised hell but to no avail I am calling my credit card company and telling them to reverse the shipping charges

As a follow up to the order I cancelled. I called Elwood Epps and ordered a similar rifle for a similar price and they told me it would be in the mail later that same day. I should have it sometime through the holidays I guess depending on CP's backlog. I will not attempt to order anything from Cabela's Canada again.

So, when is everyone going to e-mail the head office and tell them what a #### up the Winnipeg store is, and how they should be embarrassed to be connected to them in any shape or form?

Try this...my so, son-in-law and I all ordered 20 ga shotguns at the same time and paid the deposit at the store ( cabelas CDA). We didn't get the catalog price because we didn't order by mail order. Doesn't make sense they had no shipping because we picked the guns up when they came in. They have a two price system. Wholesale is no better, bought a RCBS trimmer, then tried to get the shell plates..good luck 7 months later they arrived...pilots came one month later!!!!

Cabelas Winnipeg is a Fooking joke I will never set foot in or buy anything from that place bunch of tools (except for the very helpful girl in optics). WSS is good better attitude from the sales people IMHO. I buy a lot of stuff (check my trader rating) between the CGN business sponsors and the EE all my needs are fulfilled Cabelas Winnipeg can kiss my A$$
Thanks
Pete....

I don't know why anyone would buy from them or Bass Pro, you can get it cheaper at other smaller gun shops, you can't get reloading equipment at BP shop in TO at all, because they can't mark it up to make a profit.

I ordered a new Savage Predator in .204 Ruger. Was in stock and got it quick but when I handled it it was not what I wanted. I called and they said no problem, went through all the propper return procedure for firearms and mailed it back. 1 month later no refund. I called got dicked around about why, but customer service rep said would be taken care of that day and they would call back to verify. They never called me back but in my own stupidity I thought no big deal they will have done it. Next statement comes in still no credit, now I am pissed off. I call back they had no record of any conversations I had with them previous and they were very reluctant to give me my refund. This was a grand we are talking about, two things saved me though. I had kept the original order number and I knew the date the transfer back to them took place. Finally after almost 10 weeks I got my money back. Yes I am accountable for not doing my own due dilligence for getting my refund, but these guys are incompetent when it comes to customer service. I will never give them a cent of my business again.

In the past, when the business was S.I.R, i have ordered manys times and always have first class service, now i only ordered crates ammos 2 times since they call Cabelas but still no problems yet.

My bad experience

I got a .22 autoloader as a gift, purchased from Cabelas Canada. It failed to feed the first time I tried it. I called the manufacture as I was living far from Winnipeg, and they sent me a new part to replace. Doing that, it improved, but still failed to feed reliably (now every 5th shot jammed).

So, I go to Cabelas and explain this problem - they tell me to take a screwdriver to the magazine and bend it - that might work, they say.

I say - I figured since it was new you could repair, replace, send it back, or exchange it for credit on something else. I didn't want to mess with it if it had some sort of warranty, so I didn't alter it at all.

They say - Well, it is a used gun now so we could try to sell it for you on consignment. Even with the receipt, they wouldn't do anything more.

Oh, and another time when I approached the gun desk and 4 sales guys were looking at the computer I politely asked for something I got the "we're busy now - go ask that guy down there" after that guy had already sent me to the other four. I was the only customer those 5 staff members had, and no one would serve me.

I go in there from time to time to look around, but I will never buy anything from them. A far cry from the SIR of the past.

Incidentally, Wholesale Sports in Winnipeg has the best customer service staff I've come across, so I go there.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

There isn't a dealer or other source on this board that can't provide you with what you need. My experiences with the dealers and sellers here have been top notch. If you are patient you will find what you need. The big plus is you don't have to burn a pile of gas to go to some big box outfit only to find they are out of stock or wait months if you order online to find out the same thing.
Also, prices are comparable if not lower here.

When I first heard a few years back that SIR in Winnipeg was becoming Cabelas Canada, I was really excited. I thought that we would start seeing more and more of the products offered at the US stores.

Also hoped for improved service.

Boy was I wrong!!

Each time I have been there, there seems to be less stuff that I am interested in.

And if possible, the service is getting progressively worse, which is kind of amazing considering how poor the service had become at SIR.

Lately, on my trips to Winnipeg, I have had better luck with WSS (still not perfect but at least they seem to be trying).

I think the Cabelas organization as a whole should be embarrassed over Cabelas Canada and if they are serious about expanding their brand into new markets, should do a complete overhaul of the Winnipeg store.

I don't think the customers are asking too much. Myself I just want good service, good selection and "reasonable prices" (I don't expect things for nothing).

I live north of winnipeg and i have to agree with everyone else on here, the customer service at the winnipeg cabelas sucks. It seems like the staff there won't even give you the time of day unless you slap a wad of bills onto the counter. If your just looking or doing research for your next big purchase ( predator rifle in my case) they don't even want to deal with you. Because of this treatment i won't deal with them either. I deal with WSS instead. The customer service is much better, their employees will talk to you and show you whatever you want to look at, even if you are not planning on buying that day. Another good place to deal with if you are interested in archery or in my case Black powder, is Heights Archery.

i was hoping to buy about $150 - $200 worth of clothing from Cabela's Canada. i looked on their site and every single thing is back ordered. is their store empty? do they not have a single thing there? also, from what i've read on here and on other sites, i would never take the chance of going to Cabela's Canada.

my money has gone to LA Police Gear who have been great to deal with. i will also be purchasing some stuff from Cabela's USA, since i can get it shipped to the local package pickup place for cheaper than i can drive to a store here in town and buy it.

I ordered the lee 50th ann press etc, waited almost a week called them as it had not shipped yet. I was told that it would not ship for a week so I cancelled my order, went to Lebarons and bought the RCBS kit well a few days later what shows up at my door....So I call them they apologize say they will reimburse shipping, I pay to ship it back and Canada post seems to have lostxthe package. Now I have to wait to get my money back from Canada post...I don't think I will be doing business wtb them again!

SIR didn't give a rat's a$$ about customer service in their last 5 years before being sold to Cabela's .Wouldn't order guns from Companies they already carried, unreturned calls etc..........not the same place I dealt with form the 70's on.Many buisnesses are going the same way these days..................Harold
