cabela's poor customer service

i tried ordering some stuff from cabela's canada. i phoned 10 times and waited 10 minutes each time and never got an operator. the cataloge said had a 24 hour order desk so i waited till 9 pm to let traffic die down and call again says the order desk is closed. i never had any trouble with sir or even cabelas usa. i geuss got too fast too quick unable to help there customers.anyone know were i can buy a rackulator in saskatchewan i will avoid cabela's if it all possible

I called just before submitting it to make sure they had what I wanted in stock. They did.

So I place the order. I could see on my credit card account that there has been a funds verification 2-3 days after I placed my order, but it was not charged on my credit card.
I've been left without any news since then. No e-mail, no call NOTHING. And my credit card hasn't been charged yet, so I guess it's not shipped yet.

So I tried to call, but there's a message saying that the call volume is to high. I can't even wait on the line. The only options are: place an order with the automated system or visit their Web site online.

So I wrote them an e-mail last Sunday, and of course no answer since then.


WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING WITH MY ORDER!? :mad:


I've ordered from SIR in the past, didn't have much trouble. But this time, it's simply ridiculous...



Note: This is about Cabela's Canada only. I never had any trouble with Cabela's USA, and always had a great follow through.

Thats okay. I ordered some stuff thru them and they promptly charged my CC, but never gave any indication that it was shipped. Lo and Behold....10 business days later its in my mail box for pickup. Its my understanding that if they dont charge your credit card, then its not ready to be shipped or not in stock. Yes im aware they said it was, but alot can happen in a nano-second from the time they say its in stock to the time somebody else buys it from under you. Call their customer service at some obscure time when nobody else is awake so you dont get the automated response
 
I haven;t ordered through cabela's canada, but spent more then a few pesos there while living in the states. was very impressed with their service and counter staff that acctually knew what they were talking about. WSS could take some serious lessons from them...
 
Big difference between Cabela's and Cabela's Canada.
Cabela's Canada is just SIR with a new sign. Nothing has changed in the place except that they now sell some Cabela's brands. You still can't get half the stuff that Cabela's US has in the catalogues. Before the dollar tanked I was still ordering from the States and happy that I didn't have to deal with SIRbela's Canada
 
I placed an order thru their Canadian web site and got it within a few days. There was a backorder and that arrived 15 days later with no problems. I then placed a second order a month later and that also came on time so I guess my experience has been good so far.
 
Its my understanding that if they dont charge your credit card, then its not ready to be shipped or not in stock.

Was charged on Nov. 4.... email a week ago... phone call with message... another email... another phone call.... eventually got through yesterday - was still in the warehouse for some reason.

On the plus side, their system was good enough to find where it was in a minute on the phone, the other parts of the order shipped quick and if backordered no extra shipping charges (one order could be shipped in three parts, no extra shipping).

Found email responses excellent under SIR (same or next day), now they simply dont. Not the best but at least ship the right product for the price at the time it was bought (both unlike WSS). If local gun store carries the same product can always ask how close they can come, I've been pleasantly surprised a number of times.
 
SIR used to have excellent service with items rarely backordered. Cabelas I am not so happy with. I ordered 2 Terry Redlin mugs in August. They were to be a September anniversary gift. Still backordered. May show up for Christmas.Not holding my breath. Ordered .44 cal. slugs and a knife today. Both backordered. I am a glutton for punishment,I keep going back but this is the last time. If all my stuff doesn't show by Christmas I am going to the otherguys. I know they are in transition mode but how long should you remain loyal???
 
i bit the bullet had to order from the usa cabelas probably cost me $50 more but transaction was done in less than 3 minutes the way it should be.
 
A while back I order a few things from them online (when they were just SIR). One of the items was a chrony. The chrony uses a 9v battery which I didn't order since I have a ton 9v batteries already.
So 3 weeks later my order shows up...Chrony is back ordered and not expected for 3 months!!! but they had decided I needed the 9V battery so they added it to my order and charged me $9.46 for it!!! I couldn't be bothered to go through the hassle of trying to get my money back for the wrongly delivered battery I never ordered. I cancelled my back order and I have never ordered from them since. I do like some of the stuff from them and they do seem to have good prices but the incident with the battery will always leave a bad feeling with me.
